Terpinene is a family of monoterpenes, not one single peak. Catalogs mention alpha-terpinene, gamma-terpinene, and related names. People search terpinene and terpinenes. The smell talk is herbal-citrus or tea-tree wood, not cake frosting.

Tea-tree and citrus-leaf oils are how the word shows up outside cannabis. Terpinen-4-ol is a neighbor alcohol on some of those lists, not a second spelling of terpinene unless the lab prints both.

Cannabis panels may show terpinene as a small herbal-citrus line. A tea-tree or citrus brand on a bag does not prove the isomer set is present.
