Is Gorilla Glue the same as GG4?
Short answer: in the story that made the name famous, yes. Gorilla Glue #4, GG4, and the later shop name Original Glue are mostly one cut. A bag that only says Gorilla Glue is not automatic proof of that cut.
Why the names piled up
Growers in that project kept more than one Glue plant. Number 4 is the one people kept talking about. After the original name ran into trademark trouble, many shops switched the label to Original Glue. Same plant conversation, different wrapper.
Later seed packs and crosses borrowed Gorilla Glue because the name was already famous. Those can belong in the Glue family without being the original number 4.
