HHC

HHC is hexahydrocannabinol. The name means the THC skeleton with extra hydrogen, so the ring that makes delta-9 THC reactive is saturated. Indexes also print hexahydrocannabinol. Roger Adams and coworkers described hydrogenated cannabinoids in the 1940s, in the same stretch of work that mapped THC itself. The abbreviation HHC came back into wider use much later, on hemp-derived products, long after those papers. Delta-9 lives on the THC page. Delta-8 has its own page. A label that says HHC is this hydrogenated name.
